The Golden Lion Hotel, Leyburn has dominated the Market square of Leyburn for centuries - a local landmark as well as a Luxury Yorkshire Hotel

Originally a modest home, it thrived throughout the 20th century and became a well-know refuge for those escaping from everyday life. In essence, that's still what we do today. Guests come here to walk in the Yorkshire Dales, enjoy Leyburn's many shops and galleries, visit great landmarks like Bolton Castle, Jervaulx Abbey, Masham with its Brewery Centres, and explore Whitby and the coast.

Hospitality is at the centre of any great hotel and The Golden Lion is rightly proud of its reputation for superb, locally sourced food. If you don't dine here - or at least enjoy a few treats at our Yorkshire tearoom - you really will miss out on a memorable experience. 

The Golden Lion Leyburn has 14 beautifully furnished hotel rooms including a bridal suite and many feature rooms. All our rooms are en-suite with bath or shower, satellite television, tea and coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board and wi-fi internet access.

Our traditional bar has a selection of Fine Wines, Worldwide Spirits and Real Ales which are sourced from our own local Wensleydale Brewery and offers a relaxing place to watch the world go by.

The Golden Lion can host meetings and functions for up to 50 people and cater for a range events including weddings, christenings, private parties and celebrations. Fantastic artisan homemade patisserie served at breaks, delicious locally sourced lunch options and an array of dining choices are available for private functions and events.
